@Debtmasters2010 That sounds so wrong doesn't it? "Hey everyone! Get out of pay the MONEY YOU OWE!!! Be a cheapskate because you're an not education in practicing self control and living with in your means!" Haha sorry for being blunt. I should be a little more aware of people's feelings, but you have to admit ... it sounds a little crazy.

@jaysmic24 You learned the hard way because you have no self control. Just pay off the debt each month in full. Then its INTEREST FREE!!! If you do that, you'll be able to take advantage the the credit card companies and get their rewards like cash back or air miles! Believe it or not, you'll come out on top each month! Isn't that great!?

@fasteddie847 Just pay it off in full each month, and you wont have to worry about it. There is GOOD debt (like school and mortgage) that you can benefit from and turn to profit. Automobiles are kind of on the border. Then there is BAD debt (like carrying a balance on a credit card because of that huge TV and surround system you bought that you really couldn't have afford and are paying large amounts of interest on). If you can't control yourself, don't get a credit card. It that simple.

@gorgeous2476 Part of the reason we're in this mess is because people are defaulting on their loans. The credit card companies may not be helping the situation but they are not entirely to blame. When you sign an agreement, you agree to the terms. You wouldn't be in this mess if you would have been living with in your means. I can understand medical expenses but not plain ignorance. Just follow the easy formula I provided and you will come out on top each month. Promise!

@gorgeous2476 You can take advantage of them. cash back bonus!! All it takes is a little self control and you can pay off your card in full each month. That way you don't have to pay any interest. When you go late on the payments each month you're pretty much saying "Hey I might not pay you guys off! I'm a risk and untrusted!" Don't you think there should be consequences for this kind of behavior? 30% APR is usury, but people get themselves in this mess because they're uneducated.

Credit cards are wonderful! We totally make money off each other! Its great! I know this sounds crazy but I have this certain life style that is called something like "living with in my means". What I do is charge everything (that I can afford right then and there) on my credit card instead of using cash or checks/debit cards, and pay off my credit card (the people I OWE) each month in full. I don't pay a dime in interest! PLUS, I get cash back on all my purchases! Sometimes up to 15%!!!

Rule #1 Cut your cards up. Then only use the cash you have. Get yourself out. Still using the cards keeps you in debt. Cancel your car insurance if you have to and take the bus. And no cable. Then call your credit card company and tell them you need them to lower the interest rate or you'll take your debt to another company. OR Threaten to file bankruptcy. Collections would not happen at all if you were to declare bankruptcy. This is something they want to avoid. Play hard ball!!!!!

My heart goes out to all these people, but let's be real here. People are trying to live way beyond their means. It is quite obvious that the family depicted here bought way more house than they can handle. People now buy a home that the mortgage is something like 30-40% of their COMBINED salaries and then pray that the interest rate doesn't go up. If you make something like $5000-6000 combined, you need to get a $1000 mortgage home (or apartment), You do not get a $1600 or $1900 one.

@Gearhe1d YES! People, you have no right to take advantage of poor credit card companies. Those people need those huge bonuses, luxury cars, lavish vacations and big homes. How dare you try to screw them out of those 30% finance fees. It isn't their fault that we're in a recession! You're mortgage payments can wait.
